About Refiner's Glass
Meet the Artists:

Stephen
While attending Texas Tech, I took a Glassblowing class that would change the trajectory of my future…. I have a passion to educate and serve those that God has placed around me and glassblowing creates a space to do both… I have had the honor of capturing the breath of a child in an ornament with giggles and delight to treasuring the tradition of families making ornaments of those that have lost loved ones. In 2016, my family suddenly experienced the loss of my step-father. I was humbled to have the ability to create an urn symbolizing his love of fishing in his honor. Having the opportunity to work with individuals, groups, families and businesses drive a desire to design and create functional, organic and unique glass work. Incorporating various materials, each and every piece will take on a life of it’s own. Custom lighting, sculptures, urns, ornaments, cups, bowls and vases are some of the unique works created. God continues to shine light into the glass work my wife and I create. SOLI DEO GLORIA!

Glassblowing is a creative outlet that allows a sense of connecting my thoughts to a unique piece of glass while disconnecting from outside distractions. Glass is such a fascinating medium allowing me to begin with a liquid state of glass then using techniques and tools to shape the glass into the beauty it becomes. The transformation from liquid to solid form literately comes to life in my hands. The mystery and intrigue is ever present while working since many factors contribute to reaching the desired outcome. This passion and drive began in June 2013. Taking a glassblowing class at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor with the kind and talented Hershall Seals, Art Department Chair and Professor. This is where I would later meet my AMAZING and inspiring husband, Stephen Bishop. Together we share the passion of glassblowing and using our abilities to educate, create memories and most importantly bring Glory to God. Each and every glass piece encapsulates the energy and love we want to share with others. From our family to yours, many blessings!
